New CompTIA Cloud+ Certification Reflects Growing Importance of Advanced Cloud Skills
CompTIA, the leading provider of supplier-neutral skills certifications for IT staff, today launched a new version of its CompTIA Cloud + certification, adapted to the skills IT professionals need to perform effectively while deploying cloud services in their organization.
CompTIA Cloud + is the only vendor-independent, performance-based cloud certification in the industry. The content of the exam goes far beyond just covering the product of a single supplier or a single function. It is rather about advanced cloud skills in the context of broader IT systems and operations.
"Cloud computing does not happen in vacuity as an end in itself," said James Stanger, CompTIA's chief technology evangelist. "Cloud-based infrastructure services are increasingly important parts of an organization's total IT system." Hybrid and multi-cloud environments have become the norm: IT professionals need to merge these components into secure solutions that run business-critical systems and meet specific business needs. "
To replicate this environment, CompTIA is the only certification body that includes performance-based questions and hands-on simulations in its cloud certification exam. IT professionals must demonstrate their knowledge and skills in five areas: configurations and implementation, security, maintenance, management and problem solving.
For example, in the security domain, individuals are tested for their ability to apply access control methods, as well as applying major automation and orchestration practices. They also need to demonstrate the ability to anticipate and identify cyber threats to cloud technologies.
Organizations worldwide rely on CompTIA Cloud + to certify their employees. Many have contributed their expertise to the development of the new exam.
CompTIA Cloud + -certified IT professionals work in a variety of industries including aerospace, cyber security, engineering, enterprise computing, mobile technologies, systems integration and telecommunications. They carry out tasks such as system administrators, system engineers, network administrators, network engineers, cloud developers, cloud specialists and cloud engineers.
The CompTIA Cloud + exam is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), which indicates that it complies with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 17024 Standard.
The certification is also approved by the US Navy Credentialing Opportunities on-line for IT information system technicians, CTN cryptologic technician networks and information professionals.
Individuals who are interested in CompTIA Cloud + must have two to three years of work experience in the area of network, storage or IT datacenter administration. It is also recommended that they are CompTIA Network + and / or CompTIA Server + certified.
